CRIMINAL PRACTICE DIRECTIVES - SUMMARY CONVICTION APPEALS, SENTENCE APPEALS AND FORFEITURE APPEALS, DANGEROUS AND LONG TERM OFFENDER APPEALS

The Court of Appeal is issuing two new Criminal Practice Directives which set out the procedure to follow for Summary Conviction appeals and Forfeiture, Dangerous and Long Term Offender appeals. The Court of Appeal has also updated the Sentence Appeal Practice Directive.

CIVIL & CRIMINAL PRACTICE NOTE - CORRECTION OF BOOKS FILED WITH THE COURT

The Court of Appeal has issued a new Practice Note which prescribes the procedure for correcting books which have been filed with the Court. A copy of the new note can be found here.

WELCOMING CEREMONY - CHIEF JUSTICE BAUMAN, MADAM JUSTICE STROMBERG-STEIN AND MR. JUSTICE WILLCOCK

On Friday, October 4th 2013, the Court of Appeal will hold a formal ceremony to welcome the Honourable Chief Justice Bauman, the Honourable Madam Justice Stromberg-Stein and the Honourable Mr. Justice Willcock to the Court. The ceremony will take place at 4:15 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Vancouver Law Courts. Following the ceremony refreshments will be served in the Law Courts Inn restaurant for family, friends and colleagues.
