JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT

The British Columbia Court of Appeal welcomes the appointment of the Honourable Mr. Justice John Savage, a judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia to the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and the Court of Appeal of Yukon. The appointment is effective immediately. For further information, please see the announcement from the Department of Justice.

CIVIL & CRIMINAL PRACTICE NOTE - ADDRESSING THE COURT

The Court has issued a Practice Note, effective 24 October 2014, to assist junior counsel and self-represented litigants with how to address the Court. The Practice Note can be found here.

JUDICIAL LAW CLERK PROGRAM - 2016-2017

Applications are now being accepted to the Judicial Law Clerk Program for 2016-2017. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 23, 2015 at 4:00 pm, with interviews to be scheduled throughout February and March, 2015. CONSULTATION RESPONSE - E-FILING OF FACTUMS AND STATEMENTS

This year, the Court conducted a consultation on improving its electronic filing systems, specifically with respect to e-filing of factums and statements. A consultation paper was released and the Court met with many of those affected by proposed changes.
