
The Judicial Law Clerk Program at the BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of British Columbia was established in 1973. The original aim of the Program was to improve the quality of advocacy in British Columbia. Since its inception, the Judicial Law Clerk Program has provided newly graduated law students with the opportunity to observe the judicial system from a unique vantage point.
Alumni of the Judicial Law Clerk Program have gone on to careers in all areas of private practice, public service and business. A number of former judicial law clerks are now members of the BC Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia.
Applications for Judicial Law Clerk Positions will be accepted through the BC Public Service Job Opportunity website until Friday January 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm Pacific time.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY JANUARY 21, 2022 AT 3:00 PM PACIFIC TIME In response to delays obtaining grades for the September 2021 to December 2021 term related to pandemic circumstances, the BC Superior Courts have extended the application deadline for the judicial law clerk program to FRIDAY January 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm Pacific Time. If you are completing an application for the 2023-2024 clerkship term and you experience delays obtaining official law school or undergraduate transcripts please submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts and include a note that an official copy has been requested and will be provided once available. If your unofficial transcripts for the September to December 2021 term are not available before the extended deadline of FRIDAY January 21, 2022 at 3 pm Pacific time, please note that on your application and submit the transcript as soon as it becomes available. If your unofficial transcript shows only course numbers, without course names, please submit a separate sheet showing the names associated with the course numbers. Please ensure that you submit all other portions of your application materials (including your cover letter, resume and transcripts that are available) by email on or before the extended application deadline of Friday, January 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm Pacific Time. |
